Must-Attend Events in Pensacola, Florida

Pensacola offers a year-round calendar packed with lively events that capture the spirit of this vibrant Gulf Coast city, making it a top destination for fun, food, and culture. Whether you're new to the area, planning a visit, or a longtime local, these annual gatherings showcase the community's unique spirit. We’ve picked these events as they highlight some of Pensacola’s must-attend events that cater to all ages and groups, offering a true taste of Southern culture along with Pensacola traditions.

Mardi Gras

Every January and February, Mardi Gras festivities bring the city to life. Attend one of the many parades and, for a more immersive experience, join a Mardi Gras Krewe and parade with the locals.

Pensacon

For fans of comic books, movies, and cosplay, Pensacon is Northwest Florida’s largest comic-con event. Held in February in Downtown Pensacola, it’s a weekend packed with fan culture, costumes, and celebrity guests. Grab a day pass or buy one for the entire weekend.

McGuire’s Prediction Run

Held near St. Patrick’s Day, this event is a must-do for a one-of-a-kind people-watching experience as participants dress in festive costumes while competing in this 5K. You’re not just running for time, but for fun—and maybe a little Irish Wake, McGuire’s signature drink, post-run.

Mullet Toss

Held the last weekend in April at the famous Flora-Bama on Perdido Key, competitors toss mullet fish across the Alabama-Florida state line. This quirky event has become a huge party, drawing crowds from across the Gulf Coast, and benefits several charities every year. The weekend is packed with music, food, and a lively atmosphere.

Blue Angels Air Show

Pensacola Beach comes alive each July during “Blues Week,” when the Blue Angels perform jaw-dropping stunts in a week-long celebration. This event is one of the biggest tourist draws in the region, attracting visitors from far and wide. Additionally, the Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show at Naval Air Station Pensacola in November offers another chance to witness their incredible performances. As the home of the Blue Angels, Pensacola also provides numerous opportunities to catch their practice sessions throughout the year.

Seafood Festival

Seville Square hosts the Seafood Festival each September. Come for the fresh Gulf Coast seafood and stay for the arts, crafts, and live music. We love festival season, and also recommend you check out Crawfish Festival, Greek Festival, Pensacola Jazz Fest, and the Greater Gulf Coast Arts Festival.

Snowball Derby

The Snowball Derby is held in late November or early December at Pensacola's Five Flags Speedway and is one of the most prestigious short-track racing events in the country. Attracting top drivers from all over, this high-energy race has been a Pensacola tradition since 1968.

Greater Gulf Coast Arts Festival

Also in November, Seville Square fills with artisans and food vendors for the Gulf Coast Arts Festival. With live music and engaging activities for all ages, the festival is perfect for art lovers and families alike, making it a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the artistic spirit of the Gulf Coast community.

Winterfest

Winterfest transforms Downtown Pensacola into a festive winter wonderland each December. Visitors can enjoy fake snow, holiday-themed trolley rides, and various holiday events, making it a fun way to celebrate the season in Florida. Snap your holiday photos with Santa or the Grinch, and don’t miss the chance to ride the Polar Express in your pajamas for a magical experience!
