The Importance of a Termite Service Agreement

The Importance of a Termite Service Agreement

Termites are a significant concern for Florida homeowners, often causing damage that goes unnoticed until it’s too late. Florida’s warm, humid climate makes homes especially vulnerable to termites and our climate conditions are ideal for termites year-round. Whether you occupy your home as a homeowner or lease it as a landlord, securing a termite service agreement is a proactive way to protect your Florida property.

Nicole recently partnered with Danny from Bugmeisters to visit a home with signs of recent termite damage, though no active termites were found. Together, we decided to document the termite treatment process for your benefit! In this guide, we’ll cover:

  • Common signs of termites in a property
  • How easily subterranean termites can go unnoticed
  • The steps involved in treating a home
  • The types of damage termites can cause
  • What a termite service agreement includes and its typical cost

A termite service agreement typically includes:

  • Regular Inspections: Trained professionals will inspect your home for signs of termite activity and potential vulnerabilities.
  • Preventative Treatments: Treatments are applied to deter termites before they become a problem, often focusing on the foundation and other entry points.
  • Treatment for Infestations: If termites are found, the service agreement covers the cost of treatment to eradicate them.
  • Protect Your Home Today: Whether you’re a homeowner or tenant, it’s essential to remain vigilant against termites. Regularly check for the signs we’ve outlined and invest in a termite service agreement to safeguard your property. Prevention is far less costly than repairing extensive termite damage.

Danny explains the current costs for termite treatment for his company in the Pensacola area, citing about $1 per square foot for the initial treatment. You can then purchase a service agreement with a  yearly renewal fee, typically around $200, and have yearly inspections. This also covers you if termite issues arise at the home.
